Parrots played out the meeting in the minority
Girona won a victory over Espanyol V Catalan derby within the 27th round Spanish Championship – 2:1.
At the beginning of the second half, Arnau Martinez put Girona ahead. Parrots bounced back in the 74th minute with the efforts of Martin Braithwaite.
Toward the end of the meeting, Espanyol remained in the minority – defender Sergi Gomez received a red card. In the 88th minute, Christian Stuani converted a penalty and gave victory to Girona.
Ukrainian winger Victor Tsygankov came out at the start of Girona. The midfielder spent the entire match on the field, but did not score with effective actions.
Girona scored 34 points and climbed to 10th place in the Spanish championship. Espanyol are in 17th position with 27 points.
In the next round, Girona will play with Barcelona on April 10. Espanyol will host Athletic on April 8.
