Sharan: I couldn’t think that we could lose to Ingulets, because there were only six minutes left

The coach of the Transcarpathian club complains about personnel problems and a strange penalty kick in stoppage time

Mina’s head coach Vladimir Sharan commented defeat in the match of the 19th round of the UPL against Ingulets (1:2).

“We understood how big our personnel problems are. Dmitriy Nemchaninov, an important player for us, missed the match due to cards being overdrawn. Anton Baydal is injured, Oleg Gorin has only started training for three days. Andrei Bulez returned to the team the day before the game – he was in the youth team, so we decided not to use him in the first team. His position was played by Ivan Trubochkin, who missed a lot due to injury. Yury Kolomoets started training in the general group for a week. We saw what problems we had, but still decided to saturate the middle line of the field and play according to the 4-2-3-1 formation, because Ruslan Palamar showed himself very well in training. The guy first came out in the first team.

“Of course, we were unhappy with the game in the first half. Playing in attack, playing when going from defense to attack, but the main thing is that we blocked all the zones. We played right on defense and scored from a set piece. Therefore, we can say that according to the plan for the first half, we played well. After the break, Ingulets rebuilt, played according to a different scheme and created a couple of serious chances to level the score. However, our goalkeeper played well.”

“But no one thought that we could lose this game, because there were six minutes before the end of normal time. It was difficult to talk about substitutions, but at half-time we replaced Palamar with Oleg Vishnevsky to strengthen the game in attack and move from defense to attack. Unfortunately, we got an own goal and an incomprehensible own-kick. Incomprehensible in the sense that Alexander Melnik played strangely. It was evident that he was already tired and did not understand what he was doing.

“It was necessary to decide the fate of the match a few minutes earlier. I mean the moments of Mikhail Gechev. Unfortunately, he did not implement it. The guys tried. There are claims, because we lost in the last minutes. But the main thing is that we saw dedication, fighting spirit. We just didn’t have enough for 95 minutes, given the staffing problems.”

Minay is 12th in the UPL standings. In the next round of the Ukrainian Championship Sharan’s team will play against Dynamo.
