Anji general manager Absalutdin Agaragimov spoke about the club’s debts, as well as a two-year ban on using the brand “Anji “.
Earlier it was reported that the team didn’t receive a license to play next season. Anji announced the club’s loss of professional status.
– When a club’s license is revoked, it loses its professional status. This comes with a two-year ban. So, in the next two years, no one will use the Anji brand. During this period, the club can also be revived if desired, relieved of its debts. The club has two years to do so. You have to ask the president if he has such a desire. For me, Anji is more than just a club. I worked here for 18 years. The problems started back when the club was playing in the RPL. All my football acquaintances have asked me why I go to a club with such financial problems. But I was not afraid, for me it was an honor. I tried to help, even if there were difficulties. All debts were my responsibility, I wanted to rectify the situation.
Our main debts to FIFA and UEFA, plus to the RFU – 12 million 700 thousand rubles. These debts are already three years old. During this time, many letters have arrived at the RFU that we do not respond to debts. The RFU took the rap several times for us. It got harder when they took extreme measures, tightened our enforcement. The contribution to the FNL-2 1 million 800 thousand RFU is not easy, they have helped us every year. But now they are determined to clean up the unfavorable clubs,” Agaragimov told the “Championship”.
Following the results of the 2018/19 season, Anji was relegated from the RPL. The club has spent the last three seasons in Russia’s strongest third division.
