Lukaku agrees to reduce salary to return to Inter, says newspaper

Romelu Lukaku had a lot of difficulty in his readaptation to Chelsea and is now looking to return to the team where he felt good and managed to stand out.

Romelu Lukaku started to move after a troubled season and without much space in the Chelsea. Unhappy with his current situation, the striker would be preparing to return to the Inter Milanteam where he managed to stand out and win titles being important for the game system.

According to the Italian newspaper “La Gazzetta dello Sport”, the player should spare no effort to leave the Blues. The vehicle revealed that the player is “desperate” to return to play for the Nerazzurri club and has already accepted to reduce his salary by half so that the negotiation takes place and he can return to acting for the team.

CHANNEL – ATHLETISTIC

Signed in August 2021, after a spectacular season with Inter Milan, the player did not adapt well to the English club. Apparently, several factors were decisive for his lack of performance by the team, but the problems with the coach Thomas Tuchel made everything even more complicated.

Without agreeing and adapting to the style of play adopted by the coach, the Belgian striker went public at times to make clear his dissatisfaction with not being used in the scheme chosen by the Frenchman. In addition, the striker has always been uncomfortable at the club and is now looking for a way out anyway.

In almost a year at Chelsea, Lukaku made 42 appearances but only scored 13 goals. Signing a contract until the middle of 2026, the player has to terminate his contract if he wants to leave the club. Another possible scenario is that Inter Milan make an investment to take the striker back. As a favorable scenario for all parties, teams can opt for a loan with an option to buy at the end of the contract.
