The President of the UAF was unable to come to court due to covid
Hearing in the Kiev Court of Appeal appeals of the President of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) Andriy Pavelko for judicial decision to remove him from the duties of the head of the UAF until May 13, 2023 canceled.
According to Pavelko’s lawyer, the UAF president was unable to appear in court because he fell ill with the coronavirus.
Earlier, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv extended the removal of UAF President Andriy Pavelko from his post until May 13, 2023. The judge granted the corresponding request of the prosecutor’s office. Earlier, the head of the UAF was removed from his post until March 17.
The UAF believes that these decisions on Pavelko and UAF Secretary General Yuriy Zapisotsky have no legal force, since appeals on the previous decision have not yet been considered.
Recall that the Pechersk Court of Kiev appointed the head of the UAF a measure of restraint in the form of arrest for two months, until January 22, 2023. However, Pavelko had the opportunity to make a bail, which was used by the UAF, paying about 10 million hryvnias.
Pavelko, together with UAF Secretary General Yuriy Zapisotsky, is a defendant in a criminal case and received suspicions in a corruption case. The Moscow Court imposed a similar measure of restraint on Zapisotsky.
The UAF considers the entire process to be commissioned work from the former leaders of the association. At the same time, on October 18, a search was carried out in the house of the president of the organization. Pavelko denied conducting searches in his own house, but stressed that behind-the-scenes games “with a Russian trace” were being waged, the purpose of which was to remove the current leadership of the Association.
