Vasily defeated the American by decision of the judges in a 12-round fight
Former world champion in three divisions Vasily Lomachenko disagrees with criticism regarding his duel with an American Jemaine Ortiz. The Ukrainian believes that many underestimate the level of his opponent.
“Look, he was my sparring partner. We had many rounds with him in the ring. Everyone forgets about it,” Lomachenko said.
“He is a very talented boxer, a very fast boxer. I think Jemaine Ortiz will be a big problem for any fighter in our weight class.”
Lomachenko defeated Jemaine Ortiz in a 12 round decision. For the Ukrainian, this was the first and only fight for 10 months.
Lomachenko is preparing for a fight with the undisputed world lightweight champion Devin Haney. Their fight will take place on May 20 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden and will be broadcast on the PPV system on ESPN+.
