The Irish lost to Ukraine at home
Ireland head coach Stephen Kenny commented on the defeat from Ukraine (0:1) in the match of division “B” League of Nations.
Ireland suffered a second defeat in the current tournament draw, before losing to Armenia (0:1). Yesterday the outcome of the match in Dublin was decided by Viktor Tsygankov’s only goal.

“After the match with Armenia, I said that my team did not deserve to lose. I am ready to say the same now. We started well and pinned the opponent in the first 20 minutes of the match, but then the game leveled off, ”said Kenny.
“We had opportunities to score but we didn’t use them. And the opponent realized his chance very well.”
“Ukraine has a good team, and their young players today showed a class and thirst for a fight that was no different from those shown by more experienced players in the match against Scotland. But, I repeat, in my opinion, today’s game was equal.
Ireland will play Scotland next in the Nations League on 11 June.
