Residents of the aggressor country in the coming years will have to watch only local competitions.

The English Football Premier League has ended its television contract with Russia. This was reported by The Independent. The decision was made today, June 9, at an emergency meeting of tournament participants.

Thus, the leadership and teams punished the aggressor country for the war unleashed by the Kremlin in Ukraine. It was reported that such a decision to end the six -year contract would cost the Premier League $ 540 million.

Recall that in March, the English Premier League announced the cessation of broadcasting matches in Russia, suspending Okko’s service contract. The service owns the rights to display nuclear submarines in the Russian Federation since 2019.

Starting next year, the Premier League will be one-broadcast by Match TV. The Russian holding acquired the rights to broadcast tournament matches in July last year.
