A well-known coach may lead Kryvbas
Famous Ukrainian coach Yuri Vernidub does not yet know where he will continue his career after leaving the Sheriff. Now the specialist is in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and protects the country from Russian invaders.
As reported by Sport Arena, Vernydub is close to signing a contract with Kryvbas and has already held talks with the club’s management.
“Yes, I stopped cooperating with the Sheriff. It was our common decision. I told the management that I can’t go back there yet. How to get back there now? Nobody will wait. The team needs to be prepared for next season, Champions League matches. I think I did the right thing. If I manage to work somewhere now, then I’d better stay here and work in Ukraine,” Vernydub said.
“Plans [относительно дальнейшей карьеры] there is, but for now I am in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and do not know how it will be further. If they give me the opportunity, I will work, if not, I will be here. [на фронте] to the end, to our victory.”
“Kryvbas? Anything can happen in this life. But today I am in my unit. Return to Zarya? It is difficult for me to answer this question now, because I do not know what awaits me tomorrow.
“The start of the UPL in August? It all depends on the presidents of the clubs, and whether the players want to play in such conditions. I believe that everything is possible, but here you don’t know what awaits us tomorrow, and you take it so far.”
Wernydub has been led by Sheriff since December 2020. Under his leadership, the team won the Moldovan Championship twice and for the first time in history reached the Champions League group, where they finished third.
Previously, Vernidub also worked with Zaporozhye Metallurgist, Zorya and Soligorsk Miner.
