Bayern will play the first match against Man City without striker Chupo-Moting
Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel talked about how his team will try to contain Manchester city V the first quarter-final match of the Champions League.
“We are really looking forward to this match, it is a huge challenge. We want to have such checks. To have a chance to succeed, we need to build on our recent results. To understand how Man City will play, is it easy enough. Pep’s influence on the team after six or seven years is obvious. He is a very attacking opponent who is in good shape.”
“Pep’s teams always have their own unique style. We will try to find ways to impose a fight on Man City, both with the ball and without the ball. We need to have the perfect match. We have been studying the opponent for the past few weeks. I have worked in England and I guess we have an idea of what to expect. We can keep Man City from being too dominant.”
“We will not have Chupo-Moting. But nothing prevents Gnabry from playing in the position of the ninth number. He is not very tall, but Müller and Manet are also not very tall. We will also miss Chupo-Moting on set-piece defense.”
Bayern striker Eric Csupo-Moting will not play against Manchester City due to knee problems.
Man City vs Bayern Munich will be played on 11 April. Start – at 22:00. The return match will take place on April 19. The game will be served by the Spanish team of referees led by Jesús Gil Manzano.
