Ukrainian Konotop with three records became the absolute champion of Europe in weightlifting

Nadezhda Shpilka won bronze medals

Ukrainian Kamila Konotop became absolute European Champion 2023 By weightlifting in the category up to 59 kilograms. Another Ukrainian athlete Nadezhda Shpilka won bronze medals.

Konotop installed a new one European record in a snatch, lifting a weight of 106 kilograms. Then the Ukrainian woman also won the competition in the clean and jerk with a European record (her result is 129 kilograms). Two small gold medals were supplemented by a medal in the absolute championship and the third European record in total – 235 kilograms.

Nadezhda Shpilka also brought three medals in the same weight category. The Ukrainian won bronze three times in individual events and in total, showing a total weight of 207 kilograms.

In total, the blue-yellows have 11 medals at the European Championship in Armenia. Previously, Angelina Lomachinskaya won two bronze medals, and Svetlana Samulyak also brought three silver medals.

The European Championship 2023 in Armenia will take place from 15 to 23 April. Ukraine is represented by five athletes in men’s and 12 in women’s competitions. In total, 10 sets of awards will be played at the tournament in men’s and women’s competitions.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijani team withdrew from the championship. One of the accredited persons defiantly set fire to the Azerbaijani flag at the opening ceremony.
