“Spartacus on the official website announced the appointment of the Spaniard Guillermo Abascala as the club’s head coach.
– Guillermo graduated from Barcelona and Sevilla academies, but he hardly ever played at adult level. He immediately focused on training coaches and defended his master’s thesis on the subject of physical training and rehabilitation of football players after injuries.
Abascal is 33, but he has already managed to gain quite a bit of freelance work experience, including outside of his native Spain. He is a modern specialist who speaks several languages fluently,” Spartak said in a statement.
The last club in Abascal’s career was Switzerland’s Basel, where he was the interim head coach from 21 February. He led the team to silver medals in the 2021/22 national championship.
On the eve of Spartak’s post as head coach, 49-year-old Italian Paolo Vanoli left.
