Bulykin considers Karpin unlikely to return as Spartak head coach

Ex-Moscow striker Lokomotiv and Russian team Dmitry Bulykin judges the departure of the head coach unexpected Paolo Vanoli of “Spartacus” but does not believe in the arrival of Valery Karpin in the Moscow team.

Earlier, reported that Karpin was the main contender for Spartak’s head coaching job.

– In Spartak, everything has happened sharply and suddenly lately. Since the club wanted to take a good place [в чемпионате России], but it turned out that he only won the Cup, they probably drew organizational conclusions and decided not to renew the contract. But I’m more interested in who will be the new coach instead of Vanoli. I eagerly await the outcome of this story.

Will there be another Karpin return? I think it’s unlikely. I don’t know who makes the decision in Spartak, but in theory such a move is possible. Therefore, we have to wait,” Bulykin told Gazeta.Ru.

Vanoli took charge of Spartak in December 2021. In the last RPL season, the club took tenth place in the rankings and also won the country’s BETCITY Cup.

Karpin previously worked for Spartak in 2009-2012 and 2012-2014. He won Russian championship silver twice with the club.

Since the summer of 2021, Karpin has been working in the Russian national team, and since March 2022, part-time in Rostov.
