Lampard: We outperformed Real Madrid for 60 minutes but gave them the opportunity to score

Chelsea again lost to Madrid and was eliminated from the Champions League

Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard commented on the second leg of the 1/4 finals Champions League with Madrid Real Madrid (0:2).

“We played very well for 60 minutes. We’ve had some really good moments and at this level they need to be exploited. I don’t feel like boasting too much about working capacity when you lose at this stage, because that’s where it all ended – that is, that is. ”

“The first goal we conceded was our mistake. We ourselves gave them this opportunity. We were ready to be a little more aggressive as the game progressed.”

“You play for Chelsea, which means you have to give everything in every game without a trace. I will not let anyone think that this season is already over. For 60 minutes we outperformed the world class team and created chances. You have to keep this bar. This is a message for all of us.”

The Blues again lost to Madrid and were eliminated from the Champions League. Ukrainian Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudrik entered the field in the 67th minute, did not convert a one-on-one with Thibaut Courtois, and also received a yellow card.

Chelsea will play their next match in the Premier League. The Blues will host Brentford on 26 April.
