CHANNEL – ATHLETISTIC:
THE GAME!
Even playing away from home, Spain started the match imposing itself and dictating the rhythm of the game, it’s no wonder that it took only 12 minutes to open the scoring! Comert cut badly in the defense field and ended up losing the ball to Ferrán Torres. The Barcelona forward served Llorente on the right side of the area, who crossed low to Sarabia, who only had the trouble of sending it to the back of the net: 1 to 0!
Even with all the Spanish dominance, the Swiss manage to take danger in the 24th minute. In a free kick, Shaqiri took it in the area and found Embolo who, well positioned in the small area, risked the header but ended up crooked and sent it to the left of the goal.
From the middle of the first half, the match became lukewarm, with Spain exchanging passes and controlling the game, without looking to expand the score, while Switzerland could not look for a reaction. Until, in the 44th minute, Ricardo Rodríguez received a cross in the area, but headed over the goal. 1-0 at halftime!

Switzerland returned with a different attitude in the second half and began to press in search of the equalizer. In the seventh minute, Shaqiri kicked from the edge of the area, but Unai Simón saved it in the middle of the goal, without giving a rebound. As time passed, the home team continued to dominate in the second half, while closing in and looking for a counterattack.
The final minutes of the game were electrifying! At 41, Sommer made a great shot for Seferovic, the goalkeeper Unai Simón rushed out of the area, lost the tackle and left the goal empty. Seferovic served Embolo in the middle, who kicked on the first shot, but sent the ball to the right of the Spanish goal.
Finally, in stoppage time, Steffen crossed from the left, Seferovic headed towards the small area, the Spanish defender cut weakly and Sow arrived, taking the leftover, first, but the ball hit the mark and went out for a corner. The referee then blew the whistle for the end of the game before the Swiss could take the corner kick, which caused outrage in the players.
