Russian Olympic and world rowing champions suspended for anti-doping rule violations

The suspension is for two and four years, respectively.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has upheld appeals filed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) against the decision of the International Canoe Federation not to punish Russian rowers Alexander Dyachenko, Nikolai Lipkin and Alexandra Dupik.

As such, all three are suspended from competition for anti-doping rule violations.

The 2012 Olympic champion Dyachenko was disqualified for four years for using trenbolone and methenolone.

Four-time world champion Lipkin, who used trenbolone, methenolone and oxandrolone, received a similar term.

Dupik, who repeatedly won the Russian championship among athletes with a musculoskeletal disorder, was disqualified for two years.

The term for the removal of all three Russians came into force on June 9, 2022. Also canceled are their results shown in 2014-16.
