Milan and Inter will compete for a ticket to the Champions League final
Former AC Milan striker Andrey Shevchenko commented on the forthcoming confrontation between two Milan clubs V Champions League semi-finals.
“It’s going to be an amazing evening, I’m looking forward to watching the derby after having been in it myself. Before the games, we tried to sleep, sharing emotions with each other, but as soon as we went out to the San Siro, we concentrated only on our duties.
“Of course, there was a lot of tension, but mostly passion and always respectful behavior towards the opponent. There is no hate in the Milan derby.”
Recall that Shevchenko became a member of the semi-final battle between Milan and Inter in the Champions League in the 2002/2003 season. Then the Rossoneri overcame their principal rival thanks to the away goals rule (0:0, 1:1), and the Ukrainian scored Milan’s only goal in that confrontation.
Milan and Inter will play in the semi-finals of the Champions League on 10 and 16 May.
Real Madrid will face Manchester City in the second semi-final. Matches in this pair will be held on May 9 and 17. The Champions League final will take place on June 10 in Istanbul.
