The Belarusian specialist was already the head coach of Arsenal in 2018, from where he then joined Spartak Moscow.
Under Kononov, the “armorers” played 14 rounds in the RPL in the 2018-2019 season, taking 11th place when the coach switched to the “red-white” camp.
In September 2019, after four consecutive defeats of Spartak in the league, Kononov resigned and, according to a survey of users of the Sports.ru site, was recognized as the worst coach in the history of red-whites.
Details of Kononov’s new contract with the Tula club have not been disclosed.
Recall that according to the results of the last season of the RPL, Arsenal took the last, 16th place, and flew to the FNL.
