Earlier, the broadcaster canceled his three-year contract with the league
Executive Director of UPL Eugene Wild commented statement from Setanta Sports about the termination of the contract with the league.
“Given that the official broadcaster did not actually get the opportunity to operate the full list of championship matches, this proposal has lost its force. Nevertheless, it should be noted that, despite all the conditions, the matches of the current season will be broadcast in full, in accordance with the agreements between the UPL and the official broadcaster.”
“By withdrawing its three-year offer, Setanta assured the UPL that it remains open to cooperation with the league and is ready for new negotiations on the broadcast of UPL matches, already taking into account the current situation. Therefore, in the near future, the issue of broadcasting matches of the next UPL season will be resolved, after the clubs have considered all available options and made appropriate decisions. We hope that we will be able to find the best solution for the development and future of Ukrainian football.”
Earlier, Setanta Sports announced the termination of the contract with the UPL for broadcasting matches.
Recall that the contract of Setanta Sports with the UPL was designed for 3 years. Five clubs refused to fulfill the terms of the contract – Rukh, Metallist, Dynamo, Zarya and Dnepr-1. Matches of these teams are broadcast on 1+1 Media channels.
