Linares: I think Haney will beat Lomachenko by decision

Jorge once fought both Vasily and Devin

Lightweight Jorge Linares commented on the upcoming fight between the undisputed lightweight champion of the world Devin Haney and ex-world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko.

“In my opinion, Haney will win this fight. I think it’s a referee’s decision,” Linares said.

Jorge used to fight both Vasily and Devin. In 2018, Linares lost to Lomachenko in a lightweight bout for the WBA belt. Three years later, Jorge also lost to Haney, failing to take the WBC belt from him.

The Lomachenko-Haney fight will take place on May 20 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden and will be broadcast on PPV on ESPN+.

Lomachenko defeated American Jemaine Ortiz in his last fight. For the Ukrainian, this was the first and only fight for 10 months.

Last October, Haney defeated George Kambosos again to retain the WBC, WBA Super, IBF and WBO lightweight titles.
