Ukrainian will stay in the UAE
Ukrainian coach Al Ain Sergey Rebrov will continue to work in the UAE.
According to journalist Mohammed Hamad, Rebrov will continue his contract with Al Ain. At the same time, the Ukrainian will sign a long-term agreement.
Earlier there was information that the UAF plans to announce the appointment of Rebrov as the head coach of the Ukrainian national team in two to three weeks. The contract will run for three years until the end of the 2026 World Cup cycle. It remains to agree on the legal and economic nuances of contracts with the Spanish assistant coaches.
Rebrov has already stated that he is interested in leading the Ukrainian national team. However, the coach intends to finalize the current contract with Al Ain to the end. In the UAE, the Ukrainian won the championship and the League Cup.
The Ukrainian national team does not have an official mentor after the departure of Oleksandr Petrakov. Ruslan Rotan, coach of Alexandria and the Ukrainian youth team, was temporarily appointed acting head coach.
Rebrov said he did not plan to talk about his future until the end of the season. Rebrov’s contract with Al Ain expires at the end of the current season. However, the specialist has already “made a decision.”
Al Ain is in 2nd place in the UAE Pro League. Tomorrow Rebrov’s team will play in the final of the UAE President’s Cup.
