Still going through its great phase on and off the field, the palm trees has had something to worry about in recent years in the financial matter. This is because the construction company WTorre, which participated in the refurbishment of the Verdão stadium, has not passed on amounts due to the club, and will be charged for it, according to “Globo Esporte”.

In the publication, the portal stated that the construction company owes something close to R$ 127 million to Palmeiras, in amounts referring to Naming Rights, shows, chair rental, cabins and exploration of areas of the arena that have not been transferred since 2015. It is worth remembering that the stadium was reopened in November of the previous year.

According to the contract signed at the time, Palmeiras is entitled to a percentage of these events, which will grow over the 30 years that this bond will last. Still according to the publication in question, only seven months were paid, from November 2014 to June of the following year, except for the month of May.

Despite not making the payment to which the club is entitled, the company presents all the reports referring to its monthly earnings with the stadium. In 2017 Palmeiras filed a lawsuit in court to receive what they owed, but in 2018 it was extinguished and the parties began to deal extrajudicially.
