Frank Lampard will finalize in Chelsea as head coach before the end of this season.
According to Sky Sports, the London club’s management is not going to change the team’s coach, despite poor results and even a theoretical chance of relegation from the Premier League.
So far, the Blues have lost all five matches under Lampard, 1-9 on aggregate. Lampard will play six more matches at the head of Chelsea against Arsenal, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle.
Chelsea have sacked Graham Potter as head coach and appointed Lampard as acting head coach of the Blues until the end of the season.
Earlier it was reported that Mauricio Pochettino is very close to being appointed head coach of Chelsea. The parties almost agreed on a contract, it remains to settle the details. The Argentine will start work in June.
Chelsea are 11th in the Premier League. The Blues were also eliminated from the Champions League playoffs.
