Tyson’s new style plays into the hands of the Ukrainian
Former world heavyweight champion Tony Bellew commented on the possible fight of the WBA / WBO / IBF / IBO heavyweight title holder Oleksandr Usyk with WBC champion Tyson Fury.
“I think Fury is now easier to beat than before, although only a few fighters can do it. Keep in mind that one of them is Oleksandr Usyk. Of course, Fury is the best heavyweight in the world right now, but I think he can be beaten by Usyk.”
“Tyson breaks all opponents mentally. The only person he has not broken and will never break is Usyk. Fury’s style had changed from being awkward, sneaky and fast, and now he’s become an aggressive, heavy-hitting counter-puncher. This plays into the hands of Usyk.”
Skill Challenge Entertainment plans to host a face-to-face fight between two ex-world champions Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, as well as Usyk vs Fury in the Middle East. Similar information was reported by promoter Eddie Hearn. According to him, the agreement could bring the boxers up to $400 million.
The WBA has ordered Usyk to defend his title against Daniel Dubois and set a 30-day deadline to agree on the details of the fight. Usyk’s manager, Egis Klimas, said that if there is no progress in negotiations with Dubois, then the matter will end with promotional bidding, and the fight itself can be held in late July – early August.
Fury has announced a return to the ring and a new fight in the near future. According to promoter Bob Arum, Fury’s next opponent could be ex-champion Andy Ruiz.
