The Head Coach”Orenburg » Marcel Lichka told RB Sport he supports the RPL’s possible move to the spring-autumn system.
Earlier, RFU Deputy General Secretary Denis Rogachev at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports said that the RFU Executive Committee will consider at the next meeting the transition of the second league to the spring-autumn system, and a similar question regarding the RPL could be considered if clubs apply.
– In winter, the RPL takes a very long break. What do you think of the transition to the spring-autumn system?
– I first met this version of the season in Belarus. Since Russia is the northern region, it is much better to play with the spring-autumn system. At least the fields will be better. Everyone talks about our lawn in Orenburg, but look at the fields in December – in Moscow -5, in Orenburg -15, in Yekaterinburg -20, in Krasnodar and Sochi there are frequent rains. You have only one superstadium – in Zenit others cannot afford such an arena. Even in Rostov in the south there are problems with the fields. But it’s your country, you have to make decisions, and I have to work here. If someone asked me, I would say that I am for the transition to the spring-autumn system.
Russian football competitions have been held according to the autumn-spring system since the 2011/12 season, the calendar is synchronized with the main European leagues.
Live broadcasts of MIR RPL matches take place on the federal channel and thematic channels of the holding, as well as on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
