CHANNEL – ATHLETISTIC:

We were surprised when they said there was going to be a meeting. Everyone didn’t understand anything, but after we found out about Zé’s termination, we were scared by what he was doing for us. We know what football is like and the pressure. I was happy for him and everyone was sad for him to leave and happy to have achieved a new career goal. The feeling that was left was of surprise“, said the defender about the departure of Zé Ricardo.

But what about Cruise?

In addition to commenting on the departure of the former Vasco coach to Japan, Danilo Boza also analyzed the confrontation against Cruzeiro. It’s a big game, but every game is treated equally. Of course, we know that Cruzeiro has a more qualified team than the ones we’ve played against and there’s Edu, who is one of the top scorers in the championship and who has to be careful. Professor Emílio has been passing Cruzeiro data to us and we know where we can attack them“, he highlighted.

Even Danilo Boza revealed that the Vasco squad incorporated the “pitbull spirit” of Yuri Lara to get the victory against Cruzeiro: “I just have to say that there will be no lack of determination, race and delivery. Our team is the one that wins the most duels in the B series and we created a DNA and Yuri Lara, our pit bull, is a reflection of that. The crowd really followed our will on the field“.

It is worth noting that Cruzeiro is the isolated leader of the Brasileirão series B and has a seven point advantage over Vasco. The team from Rio de Janeiro is third on the leaderboard and wants to win to close the gap to four points and stay in the fight for the title of the second division of the Brazilian championship.

Check out more excerpts from the interview with Danilo Boza!

1. What was your reaction when the conversations with Vasco started and after the deal was closed?

A: I was very happy. Because everything was very rushed due to the last day of the window, right? And it took me by surprise, I didn’t expect it. But it ended up with this proposal from Carlos Brazil. and they were in need of a defender because of injuries and contract termination of some and so they chose to call me. I was very happy and took the idea.

2. How were you received at Vasco and who was responsible for making that midfield to fit in well with the squad?

A: I’m a shy guy, but as time goes on, I get along with everyone. Here at Vasco, especially, everyone was very welcoming. I consecrated myself here with new friendships. I played with Raniel at Santos and he helped me a lot. He was the one who joined me in the review with everyone there. Raniel is very funny. He’s a lot of review, but when it comes to being serious, he’s one of the ones that works the most.

3. Vasco is going through a great phase in the season and is third in the B series. The team is doing a very different campaign compared to other years and I wanted to know if you believe in access and who is the biggest rival in this edition of the competition ?

A: We are having a good time and, as we are the youngest average age in the competition, we try to work hard here. We know the responsibility of playing for Vasco and we know the weight that we carry to help the club climb to the first division and the title will be the icing on the cake.

4. You will face Cruzeiro in the next round, precisely the leader. There are seven points of difference and the match is in São Januário. What is the expectation for the match?

A: I don’t think we have a rival. All teams are very competitive, it will be a highly disputed series B and we compete on equal terms with everyone to seek a positive result.

5. What to expect from Vasco in the match against Cruzeiro? Is there special attention to the match?

A: Expectations are always good. It’s a great game, which will have a wonderful setting. We know the strength of our fans, we have to take this factor in favor of our game and be able to leave with the three points. We know about the quality of Cruzeiro, but we are in good phases and it will be a great game.

6. You made your debut in the last round, against Náutico. How did it feel to play for Vasco for the first time?

A: It’s good. I worked a lot mentally and physically. I always looked for the same space and waited for my opportunity. I played a great game, but I still have room for evolution to reach the best football and help Vasco.
