Ognenovich: The removal changed the course of the game. I don’t know if the red card is fair

According to the coach, before the removal, Metalist fought on equal terms with Dynamo

Acting Head Coach Metallist Peritsa Ognenovich commented on the defeat from Dynamo (1:3) in the match of the 23rd round of the UPL.

“In principle, Dynamo had an advantage in the game. This is how we planned, waiting for our chances, for counterattacks. But the moment with the red card just changed everything on the field. I don’t know if it’s fair yet, but that moment changed the game – it’s 100%.”

“We always prepare the team in such a way as to win the match. It is clear that this is Dynamo. There are just matches when you need to play a little, let’s say, more heart. I think that today the team wanted to win, just… Honestly, I don’t want to give any assessments, but this moment with the red card completely changed the course of the game and it became very difficult for us, because Dynamo is a good team.”

“When Romanyuk received a red card, we rebuilt the team to play with four defenders. Then, when Dynamo scored, it was necessary to score back. We tried everything in today’s game, but it didn’t work.”

Kharkiv club takes 15th place in the UPL standings. In the next round, Ognenovich’s team will play against SC Dnipro-1 on May 3.
