What do Chileans forget in their cars?

Transportation service Uber’s annual report has revealed the most unusual products remaining in the app’s cars. Find out how to get them below.

Who hasn’t forgotten something in a car? Probably most and more than once. There are even things that are difficult to forget, but which remain, as confirmed by the latest opus of the Index of found objects that Uber is preparing to publish in an annual report the objects lost by users during company trips.

The ashes of a relative of the passenger, a gold tooth with diamonds, a Viking helmet and a replica with a dinosaur claw, are the strangest objects found in an Uber in the United States, the country which leads the list of little things usually found throughout 2022.

Speaking in particular of Chile, the most curious objects forgotten by users were objects to celebrate birthdays, such as greeting cards, cakes and gifts, with which driving partners most often found themselves on Sundays.

However, among the most common forgotten things, in our country, the global trend has continued. Thus, the top ten is made up of: backpacks and handbags, clothes, wallets, cell phones, keys, glasses, money, headphones, vaporizer, gift or birthday cake.

The report also identifies that Sunday is the day of the week when Chileans are most forgetful and that midnight is when most people leave an item in the car that transports them.

By day of the week, the most forgotten objects in Chile are:

1.- Monday: backpacks

2.- Tuesday: keys

3.- Wednesday: clothes

4.- Thursday and Friday: wallets

5.- Saturday: mobile phones

6.- Sunday: birthday card, cake, gifts.

How to recover a lost object?

Users who forget an item after an app ride can report through their Uber account, either from the phone app or on a computer and follow these steps:

  • In Account, go to Trips, then select the trip for which you forgot the item.
  • Choose the Find Forgotten Item option.
  • Click on Contact your driver for a forgotten item.
  • Enter the phone number where you want to be contacted and press Send.
  • A few minutes later, the user will receive a call to be able to contact the driver.
  • If the driver confirms they have found the item, they will be able to coordinate a convenient time and location for the return. Ready!

It may happen that the driver is in the middle of a trip at the time and cannot answer the call. In this case, the user can leave a message with the description of the lost object and its data so that the driver can contact him again.
