Premier League-promoted Sheffield owner hasn’t given up on selling the club

English ownerUnited Kingdom of Sheffield Abdullah ibn Musaid Al Saud said he still plans to sell the football club, despite the team reaching the Premier League at the end of the season.

Earlier media reported that Nigerian businessman Dozi Mmobuoshi had agreed to acquire the club for 115 million pounds (about 130 million euros), but the deal has yet to be officially confirmed.

“I can’t say it’s not the case, but I think it’s unlikely at the moment. The situation remains open.

If we make a decision, I want it to happen before we start preparing for next season. It may not affect the team next year. It must be done now. If we are in a club, we will manage it as best we can.

I intend to sell the club, but nothing is guaranteed, but I’m not going to sell the club to anyone. I worry about who will be the new owner of the club. The most important decision at any club is not hiring the right coach or the right players, it all starts at the top. If the owner is incompetent, he can possibly cancel all efforts, – quotes the words of Al Saud Independent.

Sheffield United were relegated from the top flight of English football at the end of the 2020/21 season and returned to the Premier League in April this year.
