The Brazilian allegedly failed to adapt in Serie A
Lazio may part with the midfielder Marcos Antonio.
The Brazilian midfielder did not become the main player in Maurizio Sarri. At the same time, the coaching staff is dissatisfied with the performances of the player and his physical form, and therefore does not count on Marcos next season.
The leadership of the Romans is already looking for a replacement for the Brazilian. Among the contenders are Juventus midfielder Nicolo Rovella, who now plays for Monza, as well as Galatasaray midfielder Lucas Torreira.
Marcos Antonio joined Lazio in the summer of 2022. The deal with Shakhtar cost the Romans 10 million euros. This season, Antonio has played 19 matches in all competitions, scoring one goal.
Recall that Antonio has been playing for Shakhtar since February 2019. As part of the Pitmen, he played 102 matches, scored nine goals and gave five assists. Together with the Donetsk club, the Brazilian twice became the champion of Ukraine.
Lazio are in second place in the Serie A standings.
