David Beckham is in the news. The ex-footballer talk on netflix about his life with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder . Two decades ago, while a member of Real Madrid, the Englishman first opened up about it and revealed he was living with the condition. On this occasion, he said that at home he liked everything to be ordered, in a straight line, with things arranged in pairs. Also that he liked to wear new shoes in all games.
This time he went a little further. In the forthcoming documentary about his life, the former British player says he doesn’t like to be constantly worried. “It’s exhausting to go around cleaning each sail. I cut candle wax, clean glass – this is my favorite hobby. I know, it’s weird (…) I would like to get rid of it, but I can’t help it” points out.
“When everyone’s in bed, I walk around the house, clean up the old candles, turn on the switches so they’re lined up correctly, and make sure everything is in order. I clean the kitchen very well, I don’t think my wife enjoys it that much, really.”

“He has this obsessive-compulsive thing where everything has to match. If you open our refrigerator, everything is coordinated on both sides. We have three fridges: food in one, salad in the other and drinks in the third. When it comes to drinks, everything is symmetrical. If there are three cans, he will throw one away because it has to be an even number (…) It’s so perfect,” he says.
Beckham, who retired from football in 2013 at PSG, is currently based in the United States and owns Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami. However, in recent days he was in Paris and visited the staff of the last club where he was a player. “My children are more fans of Lionel Messi than mine,” he said.
