Russian coach Valery Nepomniashchi considering the appointment of the Spaniard Guillermo Abascala to the position of head coach of Spartak as an “experiment”, while he does not understand what the team was guided by.
Abascal, 33, was appointed to a role at Spartak on June 10.
– It’s in the style of “Spartacus” – not a very clear choice. Spartak is Spartak. Good luck to him and success in the new experience. I don’t quite understand what guided the club in this case,” Nepomniachtchi told RT.
In the 2021/22 season, Abascal won the silver medal in the Swiss championship with Basel.
