Antwerp beat Mechelen in the Belgian Cup final

Antwerp won the tournament for the fourth time in history

Antwerp won Mechelen in the final match Belgian Cup 2022/23. The fight took place in Brussels at the King Baudouin Stadium.

In the 35th minute, Antwerp took the lead – Vincent Janssen converted a penalty. At the end of the meeting, Michel Balikwisha scored the second goal for Mark van Bommell’s team and set the final score of the meeting.

Antwerp won the Belgian Cup for the fourth time in history. The club has previously won the trophy in 1955, 1992 and 2020.

Mechelen lost in the final of the Belgian Cup for the fifth time in history. The Yellow-Reds have won the tournament twice, in 1987 and 2019.

In the Belgian championship, Antwerp is in third place. Mechelen is located on the 13th position.
