Chelsea ready to continue negotiations with the Argentinean coach Mauricio Pochettino this week to settle the final details on the contract.
After an important part of the talks in Los Angeles over the weekend, Chelsea are entering the final stages of the signing process, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Earlier there was information that Pochettino and Chelsea almost agreed on a contract. The Argentine will start work in June.
Pochettino has emerged as the favorite to take over as Chelsea manager after Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann withdrew their nominations. Chelsea players also prefer Pochettino among the candidates for the position of head coach of the team.
The 51-year-old’s last club was PSG, which he left in 2022. He also coached Tottenham, Southampton and Espanyol.
Chelsea have sacked Graham Potter as head coach. The Blues’ acting head coach for the remainder of the season will be Frank Lampard.
Chelsea are 12th in the Premier League. The Blues will play against Arsenal on 2 May.
