Hungarian coach Ferencvaros Miroslav Romashchenko Would love to play in Victory retro match for veterans “Spartacus” if there was an opportunity and free time, the Russian Championship bronze medalist as part of Dynamo told Maxim Romashchenko .
On Monday, star players from Spartak, Rotor and Dynamo Moscow will re-enact the 1943 encounter between Dynamo Stalingrad and Spartak Moscow. The match is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad and will take place at the Volgograd Arena, which hosted the 2018 World Cup matches.
— I would like to thank the organizers of the retro match, it’s a noble cause. Thanks for the invitation. It’s an honor for me to be in Volgograd that day, to play with the guys I was in the team with before.
The game is not a control game, as they say, but a friendly game for me.
– How will the united team of Rotor and Dynamo establish play links?
– We will decide the matter with the mentality of football, no one has canceled the language of football. The age is about the same, we have this football education and this intelligence which allows us to understand each other.
– There will be no outbreaks from past battles with Spartak, will there?
– There will be no emotional outburst. For me personally it is a holiday today, I will stand side by side with friends.
— Volgograd’s most memorable match?
– Played here several times. Only the warmest memories. I will not single out any match. It will be nice to play in such a fancy stadium which has hosted World Cup matches, and it will be extra excitement.
“Your generation hasn’t had the chance to play in such arenas. That’s a shame?
– They once joked that if Rotor plays in such a stadium in second league, what about RPL clubs (laughs). It’s normal that we couldn’t play, in our time the stadiums were good too. And young people are lucky to play in such modern arenas, to grow up in such conditions.
– Could your brother Miroslav come from Hungary?
“Maybe, but he has a job, no time. I don’t know if he was invited or not, but he would come with great pleasure to play for Spartak and we would take the field against each other,” Romashchenko told .
