The midfielder began the first stage of recovery after surgery
Midfielder of Shakhtar Ivan Petryak talked about the process of rehabilitation after surgery.
“The first stage after the operation is boring, but this work is necessary. I pump the ankle, muscles, work on the press, hands.
“When I found out that I needed an operation, I got a little depressed, but for two or three days I walked away. I realized that I can’t change anything anymore, and crying, sitting and shutting myself up is not an option. Therefore, I work in a good mood. The rehabilitation period is three months, but knowing myself and our doctors, I think I will recover in one and a half.”
“How did you get hurt? It was raining and it was very slippery – I ran after the ball, quickly stopped, my legs left and I fell on my leg with my own weight. Heard a crunch three times. When they did an MRI, they said that I tore everything that was possible.
“Now the team has a very difficult period. I am no longer an assistant to the team on the field, but I try to help in the dressing room and in training, to maintain the atmosphere.
Sport Arena previously reported that Petryak would miss the rest of the season. The midfielder has not entered the field since mid-March.
Petryak has made 22 appearances for the Miners in all competitions this season, scoring one goal and an assist.
Shakhtar leads the UPL, ahead of Dnepr-1 by five points. In the next match, Igor Jovićević’s team will play against Minay on May 3rd.
