Mourinho pulls out of Chelsea return talks

The Portuguese coach intends to finalize the contract with Roma

Roma head coach Jose Mourinho refused to negotiate a return to Chelsea.

The Blues intended to offer the Portuguese a third time to lead the team. However, the coach’s representatives quickly responded that he was interested in staying at Roma next season. The current contract of the Portuguese with the Wolves runs until the summer of 2024.

Recall that Mourinho led Chelsea from 2004 to 2007 and from 2013 to 2015. Under his leadership, the Blues became English champions three times.

Chelsea have sacked Graham Potter as head coach. The Blues’ acting head coach for the remainder of the season will be Frank Lampard.

Mauricio Pochettino is considered the main favorite for the vacant position. The Blues intend to continue negotiations with the Argentine this week.

Chelsea are 12th in the English Premier League. The Blues’ next match will be against Arsenal on 2 May.
