Stepanenko will not help the national team in games with Armenia and Ireland

The Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder was injured in the 2022 World Cup play-off final match against Wales.

Taras Stepanenko will not be able to play in the next games of the Ukrainian national team in the League of Nations. According to Shakhtar’s midfielder, he was injured, due to which he will have to miss the next “blue-yellow” matches against Armenia and Ireland.

“Sometimes in retrospect, the years spent in the struggle seem to you the happiest. This expression is always with me when it’s hard and painful.

In recent months, all I’ve been thinking about is winning the war and entering the World Cup. But these dreams are connected to each other by a strong bond that is in my heart and has warmed my soul.

Arriving in Qatar was a goal so close that we were almost able to touch it, smell the success and give the most important thing – a smile and incredibly positive emotions for Ukrainians.

Strong people create their individuality, and Ukrainians are a very powerful nation. Now it is known all over the world. And we will surely win the war, together. And someday the World Cup will be held in Ukraine, I have no doubt about it.

Unfortunately, I can’t help the national team in the matches against Armenia and Ireland. So this season is over for me. Ideally, the hardest time of my life. And it’s a very difficult experience, allowing you to draw conclusions and be stronger.
