Former Volgograd “Rotor” football player Valery Esipov told he had no connection to ex-teammate Vladimir Niederhaus, who was accused of fraud.
In early February, media reported the detention of 55-year-old Niederhaus in Minsk on suspicion of fraud. The last job of the former Rotor football player was with the Kazakh Shakhtar, where he served as deputy director of sports work.
– I can’t say exactly what happened to Vladimir, because I don’t have complete information. We are worried about him. He is still our partner and friend, that’s the main thing. Although there is no contact with him, we will certainly meet him as soon as possible. We think everything will be fine and there was some kind of mistake,” Esipov told .
Niederhaus played in Rotor in 1992-1997 and 1999, twice became a silver medalist in the Russian championship and once bronze.
