“Iron Mike” is in for a serious fight
Former World Heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson named suitable, in his opinion, opponents for the holder of the WBA / WBO / IBF / IBO heavyweight titles Oleksandr Usyk.
“I want to see Usyk fight other fighters – Wilder, Andy Ruiz. I want to see how Usyk fights these guys. They have more experience than Joshua,” Tyson said.
Initially, Usyk was supposed to hold a unification fight for the title of absolute world champion with WBC belt holder Tyson Fury on April 29 at London’s Wembley Stadium. However, negotiations failed and the fight was cancelled.
Soon, the WBA ordered Usyk to defend the title against Daniel Dubois and set a 30-day deadline to agree on the details of the fight. Usyk said that he plans to fight the Briton at the end of the summer.
Usyk’s manager, Egis Klimas, said that if there is no progress in negotiations with Dubois, then the matter will end with promotional bidding, and the fight itself can be held in late July – early August.
Krasyuk said that three potential places are being considered for the fight with Dubois. Great Britain remains the main option, and the fight can also be organized in Poland and the Middle East.
