Polish Judo Association called for the withdrawal of the decision admission of Russians And Belarusians To World Cup 2023.

The President of the Polish Association Jacek Zawadka sent a corresponding letter to the President of the International Judo Federation Marius Vizer.

“We know that many athletes representing the aggressor countries are representatives of the army and law enforcement agencies, so it is difficult to talk about their independence, since they receive remuneration from the army of the regime. The entire board of the Polish Judo Association calls for athletes from Belarus and Russia not to be allowed to participate in sports competitions. We cannot allow and turn a blind eye to aggression,” the letter says.

The International Judo Federation (IJF) allowed athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete under a neutral flag at international competitions under its auspices. After a special check, the licenses for eight athletes from Russia were revoked.

The Judo Federation of Ukraine has officially confirmed that it will not participate in the 2023 World Championships due to the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the competition.

The 2023 World Judo Championship starts on May 7.
