The coach has no idea that the referee influenced the outcome of the meeting with Minay
Shakhtar head coach Igor Jovichevich summed up the scandalous match with Minaj (1:0) in the 24th round of the UPL. The coach emphasized that emotions come to the fore in such meetings.
“First of all, congratulations to the team on their victory. These are important three points for us. Such games at the end of the championship are key, responsibility and stress are growing. Psychology comes to the fore – how we can play such important matches that lead us to the final goal. Because there are other teams that are fighting for the highest places. You have to be able to play those games.”
“About the game. I think we deserved to win. During the first 60 minutes, the difference between the teams was at least four goals. We were let down by the implementation.”
“But the combinatorics between the players gave us the opportunity to break the rich defensive line of Minay, which was formed from overall, powerful players. We managed to break this line, but let down the last blow. With a big smirk, they said that it would be a top match. Smiles with smiles, but there are situations in which we must gain experience, control emotions, overcome stress, so that during the last ten to fifteen minutes we do not make a mistake that could be fatal for us.
“I must also say about the situation in which, as I was told, Minay scored a goal. I haven’t seen it yet because I usually watch matches the next day. But they talk about the goal from Minai. But before, I saw a foul on Traore, fixing which would not allow the situation to arise, as a result of which the coach and players of Minay have claims. I repeat, the difference between the teams was at least four goals, and if we realized our chances, then there would be no questions at all. But there are three points. Fixed. Getting ready for the next match.”
“Today we saw a good miner. Both in moments and in the game. We deserved more goals. In general, they controlled the game. Although at the end they got a little nervous. But this is normal for our young players going through school experience. For them, this is the first season with the struggle for the highest positions. We communicate with each other, we learn to be stronger in each next match.”
Recall that at the end of the first half, with the score 1:0 in favor of the Pitmen, the chief referee of the meeting, Nikolai Balakin, did not count the goal of Vladimir Sharan’s team.
After a shot by Dmitry Nemchaninov, the ball hit the crossbar, after which it bounced over the goal line of Anatoly Trubin. The referee did not record a goal, but sent the teams to a break.
Shakhtar with 59 points continues to lead in the standings of the championship of Ukraine. In the next round of the UPL, the Pitmen will play against Alexandria.
