The Veterans Tournament dedicated to Victory Day is held under the auspices of Russian Football Union (RFU) and is charitable in nature, Alexander Mirzoyan, chairman of the Russian Football Veterans Union and chairman of the RFU Football Veterans Committee, told .

The tournament, organized by the RFU Veterans Committee, is held at the Spartak Academy named after Fyodor Cherenkov. The event is attended by several veteran teams, including Spartak, CSKA, Zenit and the Russian team. After the tournament, a trip to the Jardin d’Alexandre is planned to lay flowers.

— This is a traditional annual event, held on Victory Day. We invite different teams, today for the first time a team from Podolsk participates – people who weigh more than 100 kg, but they move and play perfectly, Zenit arrives, CSKA, Spartak, two national teams participate. After this tournament, we will go to the Jardin Alexandre to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where we will lay flowers. There will be widows of our illustrious veterans: Krutikov, Khusainov, Maslachenko.
