The people of Kiev got a strong-willed victory over Vorskla
Acting head coach Dynamo Alexander Shovkovsky summed up the confrontation with Vorskla (2:1) in the 24th round of the UPL.
“We were preparing for this game, we understood the qualities due to which our opponent plays. But, unfortunately, at the very beginning we missed such a goal, according to which we warned that we need to be careful and responsible in these transfers to the striker.
“Unfortunately, we conceded, but the main thing is that we continued to comply with the agreements that we had for this match and, in principle, I am satisfied, first of all, with the actions of our team, motivation and how the guys tried to get what we needed result. We knew that our main competitors, who are ahead of us, won their matches, so we had no right to make a mistake.”
“Of course, we are constantly in touch with the head coach, we talked to him this morning, we talked to him yesterday afternoon, in the evening. He constantly supports the team, sends congratulations, and we also wish him a speedy recovery so that he is in the ranks. As for the decisions, then, of course, they are made already for, let’s say, for the situation that exists on the football field. But we are constantly in touch with the head coach.”
“I don’t think the first half was a failure. Certainly there were some problems. We knew how the opponents would act. But the agreements we talked about were more implemented in the second half. First, why didn’t it work? During the break, we noticed these moments and the players coped and in the second half were more responsible for the agreements that we had.
The Kievans are in fourth place in the UPL. In the next round, Dynamo will play with Kryvbas on May 8.
