Roman Eremenko’s father spoke about the player’s transfer to Honka

The father of former CSKA and Spartak Roman Eremenko midfielder Alexey Eremenko has told about the player’s move to Finland’s Honka.

Roman Eremenko’s last club was HIFK, which he left in January. As a member of the Finnish team, the midfielder played 12 games, scored 2 goals and provided 1 efficient assist. On Thursday, Honka announced the signing of a contract with the player until the end of the season.

– “Honka” had been interested in Roma for several years, there were requests from them, as he returned to Finland. Now the parties have agreed and the transfer has taken place.

Is Roman ready for a new challenge?

– He is in good physical shape, still not in “match form” of course, but he is very well prepared physically.

– “Honka” – promo?

Yes absolutely. This is a team that usually goes into the top three. Plus a team betting on ball control and combined play. This option is well suited for Roma.

Honka’s head coach is Vesa Vasera, he and Roma played at Yaro in 2004-2005 when Roma started his career and played with me. Vesa was our teammate, plus I played with Vesa at HJK. Everything is connected (laughs). They played together, and now he coaches Roma, – said Eremenko Sr. “”.

Eremenko, 36, has previously played for Rubin, CSKA, Spartak and Rostov. Finn has won the Russian Championship, Cup and Super Cup once. In November 2016, he was banned for two years for cocaine use.
