The “last gear” was not enough to win
Head coach Kryvbas Yuriy Vernidub commented on the draw in the match of the 24th round of the UPL with Ingulets (0:0). The coach acknowledged that his wards made a sufficient number of optional mistakes.
“We had the advantage all 90 minutes, but we didn’t manage to win. Slowly with every minute they pressed on the gates of Ingulets, only a goal was not enough. What else was missing in our attacking actions? Last transmission. After the break, the game leveled off a little, the opponent rebuilt, began to play the classic 4-2-3-1 and made good counterattacks.
“For the most part, we failed to finish Ingulets. This suggests that we still do not know how to attack positionally a little. We should have attacked more effectively. There were moments: both the post and hitting our player when the ball was already flying into the goal. Three days later we have a game with Dynamo, we will prepare. The whole fight in the championship is still ahead.”
