The Red Devils have lost the opportunity to reach third place in the Premier League
Manchester United conceded Brighton in the postponed 28th round of the Premier League – 0:1.
During the duel, both teams delivered more than 35 shots on goal. Note that Martial, Rashford and Bruno Fernandes did not convert their chances for the guests, while McAllister and Mitoma did not convert for the hosts.
The denouement came in stoppage time. The VAR team pointed to Luke Shaw’s handball in their own box, after which Andre Marriner awarded a penalty. The kick from the point was clearly performed by Alexis McAllister.
Manchester United failed to get past Newcastle and remained in fourth position in the standings. Brighton have moved up to sixth place under Roberto De Zerbi with 55 points.
In the next round, the Red Devils will play with West Ham on May 7. Brighton a day later will host Everton Ukrainian defender Vitaliy Mykolenko.
