In the dark, Brighton defeat United in the Premier League

In the last bid, the brighton won the Manchester United 1-0 this Thursday, 04, in a delayed game of the 28th round of the Premier League. With a penalty converted into added time, Mac Allister secured victory at Falmer Stadium.

With the result, Brighton reached 55 points, rose to sixth place and touched on Liverpool, which has 59 points and two games more. United, on the other hand, parked at 63 points, in fourth place on the leaderboard.

The game

The first half was busy, with Brighton and United putting pressure on the opposing team and with good chances to score. In the beginning, Antony almost opened the scoring when he finished dangerously outside after Rashford’s pass. On the other side, Mitoma took advantage of Lindelof’s hesitation and kicked goalkeeper De Gea in the face. Afterwards, the Reds created the main attacking plays, despite the disadvantage in possession of the ball.

The home team started better in the second half, but United started to grow in the game. In Manchester’s best chance, in the 28th minute, Casemiro took advantage of the defense’s cut and finished from the edge of the area, but sent it high over the bottom line.

In the final stretch, goalkeeper De Gea shone to save United. In the 44th minute, Mac Allister had the ball left over and hit from outside the area, demanding a good defense from the Spaniard. In the 49th minute, number 1 saved the submission from Moisés Caicedo after a corner kick.

Brighton’s final pressure paid off in stoppage time. In the 51st minute, Luke Shaw touched the ball with his hand in the area, and the referee awarded the penalty. At 53, Mac Allister went to the penalty spot and did not waste it: 1-0.
