Eight supporters Naples were injured at the Dacia Arena in Udine during the team’s Serie A championship celebrations.
Earlier Thursday, in the away match of the 33rd day of the Italian championship, the Neapolitans were tied with Udinese at the score of 1-1. Napoli scored 80 points and with five rounds remaining the championship became inaccessible to rivals. Napoli won the national championship gold medal for the third time. Previously, the Neapolitans won the Scudetto in the 1986/87 and -1989/90 seasons.
At the end of the match, the guests’ supporters ran onto the pitch, resulting in a stampede in which several supporters were injured.
“These are not injuries caused by collisions or scuffles, but injuries caused by falls caused by crowds,” Udine prefect Massimo Marchesiello told Ansa.
Earlier it became known that in Naples during the festivities a 26-year-old man was shot dead.
