The Committee of Sports Guarantors (Collegio di Garanzia dello Sport) has published the reasons for the partial satisfaction of the appeal “Juventus for a 15-point penalty in Serie A, noting that the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) was fully entitled to reopen the case after receiving new evidence and deprive the Turin side of 9 domestic league points.
The text of the document is published by Football Italia. It should be noted that the decision should be made within a month, and the Turintsy are ready to challenge it again. The procedure is expected to drag on and Juventus will drop points next season.
Juventus were deprived of 15 points in the Italian league due to financial fraud. It was found that the club had committed to overestimating the transfer value of its players to increase its capital. Later, the Board of Sports Guarantees of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) partially upheld the club’s appeal and will refer the case to a higher court for review. The club have been temporarily dropped 15 points in the Serie A standings.
Juventus are currently second in the Italian league table with 66 points.
